The introduction of Julien Look's session was spoken by an AI voice, and later a voice agent answered questions about other talks at the conference. In his workshop on 15 May 2025 he shows what he actually uses as a software engineer, freelancer and agency owner. Three use cases he built himself take up most of the time, and he says none of them needs software engineering skills.

What the talk covers

  • Where AI helps him: speed, scale, personalisation, cost, decisions and the quality of his core work. His examples: faster information retrieval (AI search instead of Google), proposal drafts, automated content, better coding and debugging.
  • Use case 1, the voice agent: it answers calls, explains topics, can book meetings and ends the call itself so it does not burn credits. He fed it conference information to show it live.
  • Use case 2, the content pipeline: a no-code automation takes a script, turns it into an avatar video of himself and posts the video with a short LinkedIn text. The downsides: the video cannot be edited afterwards, so you must trust the output, and the avatar copes badly with gestures or looking away. He thinks it works well for explanatory videos.
  • Use case 3, lead generation: a pipeline collects information about a lead, writes a personalised cold email with AI, saves it in a table and sends it, and you can edit every step.

His plan to start

  1. Find your pain points, the tasks that eat your time.
  2. Run a small pilot of about a week with clear measures.
  3. Train your team.
  4. Scale what works. Many pilots fail, so iterate fast.

His conclusion: AI extends your core skills instead of replacing them.
