Fabian Werkmeister

I'm a Senior Data Engineer, but I don't fit the typical techie mold. I started with a business degree and spent two years on the business side, then made the leap into tech and data with a 12-week coding bootcamp. Five years of pragmatism and continuous learning propelled me from trainee to senior.

The real turning point in my life, however, came during a 12-month trip around the world, when I realized: I want freedom and autonomy, not just another job title. So I pulled the plug and have been self-employed since January 2026. My wife and I founded our own company, where I build lean and scalable data platforms for small and medium-sized enterprises.

I share what I learn along the way as a speaker and on LinkedIn. My passions revolve around data and business, as well as mindset, philosophy, and personal growth.

My mantra, in work as in life: less complexity, more impact.
